  • Provide accurate information during the application and interview process
  • Respond promptly to communication and required documentation
  • Demonstrate reliability, maturity, and readiness for international placement
  1. Respect for Others

All applicants are expected to:

  • Treat others with dignity, courtesy, and cultural sensitivity
  • Respect differences in background, identity, and belief
  • Avoid discriminatory, harassing, or abusive behaviour
  • Follow the laws and cultural norms of the host country
  1. Integrity & Honesty

Applicants/Participants must:

  • Disclose relevant information that may affect placement suitability (e.g., health considerations, legal restrictions, availability)
  • Not falsify documents, references, or qualifications
  • Honour commitments made during the placement process
  1. Safety & Compliance

Applicants/Participants agree to:

  • Follow all safety guidelines provided by Scotia Personnel Ltd. and host organizations
  • Respect program rules, host family expectations, and workplace policies
  1. Responsible Communication

Applicants/Participants must:

  • Use respectful language in all written and verbal communication
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with staff, host families, and participants
  • Use social media responsibly and avoid posting confidential or harmful content
  1. Consequences of Misconduct

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Delays in placement
  • Removal from consideration for certain programs
  • Termination of participation
  • Notification to host families or partners when necessary

3. Essential Eligibility Criteria

These criteria outline the fundamental abilities and conditions required for successful participation in Scotia Personnel Ltd. programs. They are not used to exclude applicants based on personal characteristics; rather, they ensure safety, readiness, and alignment with program expectations.

  1. Age & Legal Requirements
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement for the specific program (typically 18+)
  • Must hold valid identification and travel documents
  • Must meet visa or work authorization requirements for the destination country
  1. Communication Skills

Participants must be able to:

  • Communicate effectively in English (and other languages where required)
  • Understand safety instructions, workplace expectations, and host family and/or employer guidelines
  • Engage respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  1. Behavioural & Interpersonal Readiness

Participants should demonstrate:

  • Maturity, responsibility, and sound judgment
  • Adaptability to new environments and cultural contexts
  • Ability to manage stress and problem‑solve independently
  1. Physical & Cognitive Requirements

Depending on the program, participants may need to:

  • Perform basic physical tasks (e.g., childcare duties, standing for extended periods, light lifting)
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and follow safety procedures
  • Meet any host‑country or employer‑specific health requirements

Reasonable accommodations may be explored where feasible and safe.

  • Follow partners ‘guidelines in each country we work with

  • Adhere to program rules, host family expectations, and workplace policies

Participants should be prepared to:

  • Fulfill the duration of the placement
  • Engage positively with host families, employers, and cultural environments
  • Represent themselves with professionalism
